Pastor

Rev. Karen Mendes

A graduate of Middlebury College and Andover Newton Theological School, Rev. Karen A. Mendes was ordained in 1996. She was called to First Baptist Church, Burlington as their Interim Pastor in September of 2012 and was installed as their Pastor in May of 2014. Rev. Mendes lives in Essex Junction, Vermont with her husband and two children.

Pierre Compere

Pierre was born in France and grew up in Waitsfield, Vermont. He spent the last 4 years training monastically in a Soto Zen temple, and returned to Vermont to undergo interfaith chaplaincy training at the UVM Medical Center. Pierre has a deep appreciation for and curiosity about the Christian faith. He is honored by the opportunity to learn, to be of service, and to support the activities of the Church.
